the water wizard the compost queen | Sanctum Theatre, in partnership with Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA), presents the Water Wizard and Compost Queen, two very ancient and quite tall Australians who love attending sustainable festivals and parades with their mere mortal companion, Gardener Greg.
Gardener Greg is certainly a lazy gardener. Can you teach him how to compost effectively and how to save water in the garden? Or will the Water Wizard and the Compost Queen have to show him a thing or two? The Water Wizard has spent the past several millennia circulating between Earth, ocean and sky. It is our current draught and global warming plight that has inspired him to take human form and emerge from the Yarra River. He now travels this vast, dry continent teaching people how to save water. The Compost Queen rules over minions of worms and slaters, a kingdom of compost and regrowth. And for those courageous enough to brave her odious presence, the Compost Queen is a veritable font of wisdom in regards to all things rotten and rotting, (she is certainly also a font of some less savoury emissions!)
A percentage of the fee for the Water Wizard and Compost Queen goes towards supporting SGA, a non-governmental, not-for profit organisation which aims to ‘enhance the Australian environment by promoting sustainable horticulture’. www.sgaonline.org.au.
