Short Film Coming in 2023!

Sanctum Studio presents CORREA

CORREA tells the story of the beings that animate the bush. It begins with their gestation in the bellies of flowers and gum nuts. It follows a family’s journey across the land, to the water.

Animated by LACHLAN PLAIN. Composed by NICK WILSON, (SOUND FOSSIL). Vocals by JASMINE POWELL and LACHLAN PLAIN. Presented by SANCTUM THEATRE. Supported by CITY OF MELBOURNE ARTS GRANTS.

It was created for the CORREA exhibition, commissioned by Hume Winter Lights Festival. This exhibition reflected on the arbitrary divisions we carve into the land – roads, fences, borders – as well as those we construct between ourselves.

Exhibition 2022

The CORREA film was created as part of an exhibition at Town Hall Broadmeadows Gallery an installation of sculpture, light and stop motion projection developed in conjunction with the 2022 Hume Winter Lights Festival.

CORREA tells the story of the beings that animate the bush and the things that divide them. Artist, Lachlan Plain, reflects on the arbitrary divisions we carve into the land – roads, fences, borders – as well as those we construct between ourselves.
